Skyrim: Eleven Years On
Bethesda Game studios launched Skyrim in November 2011. This was released as a role-playing action game. It’s been 10 years now, and the community’s growth shows no sign of slowing down. The community keeps expanding to a younger and broader audience. We’ll look at a couple of reasons why Skyrim has maintained its dominance for over a decade.

A little about the game itself:
- It’s set in a world full of dragons and intriguing mysteries to solve.
- The game is playable from either a first or third-person’s perspective.
- The players are able to freely roam about the expansive world.
On its debut, it was considered by many the greatest game ever made. This was because of the character development, world designs, dragon battles, and numerous technological advancements.

Unlike most other companies, Bethesda has welcomed the expanding modding community surrounding its games, providing access to the Creation Kit. This tool allows users to rebuild the Skyrim world as they want to see it using Skyrim’s original game files and code. As a result, the game has one of, if not the most, active modding communities in the industry.
The reason Skyrim still has a die-hard following is that it allowed every user to have their own unique experience. Some dedicated users have pointed out that they feel like they’re playing a different game each time they sit at their console. This flexibility and constant upgrade on character development are what has kept Skyrim going.
